A/C ran fine for 2 days, now if you cut the car on and switch the A/C on the engine shuts off immediately. There is a clicking noise coming from the engine. Is the compressor blown?? | A/C | | Toyota MR2 MK1 N/A - Ac amplifier or computer | | I have a 1988 mr2 i have replaced the ac compressor 4 times in the last 4 years. Last time the mechanic said it was the ac computer what does this do? I replaced the computer and the ac is broken again.
Does any body have any fix to my problem or ideas?
Since i put in the new ac coputer in it does not idle up when the ac is on.

| A/C | | Toyota MR2 MK2 N/A - A/C does not work, clicking noises coming from engine bay with battery drain | | A couple months ago i was running my car when suddenly my AC stop blowing cold air but still running and at the same time my rpm needle began jumping up and down sometimes out of control every now and then. For several weeks I suspected that maybe I just needed to refill the AC but then suddenly a couple of weeks later my car battery began to drain, even when it was off. And now AC don't work, but when i click the AC button to try and turn it on i get those clicking noises coming from the engine bay. I have checked all fuses and they look good. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 1993 MR2 non turbo. My probelm started with A/C then it led to jumping rpms now i have a car that constantly drains my battery with a clicking noise in the engine bay while trying to get my AC to turn on. |

| A/C | | Toyota MR2 MK2 N/A - A/C Compressor | | Does anyone know if the A/C Compressor Units in a Jap import Mk2 '91 G-Limited and a Mk2 UK GT will be the same?
i.e. can I fit an A/C compressor from a UK Mk2 GT which I find in a breakers to my Jap Import Mk2 G-Limited.
Also, does anyone know if the bearings on the magnetic clutch of the A/C compressor are rattling - does that mean I can just replace the clutch or do I have to replace the whole compressor unit ?
Be very grateful for help becuse this is my 1st MR2.

| A/C | | Toyota MR2 MK2 Turbo - buzzing and recirculation light blinking | | My 93T air conditioning will be running fine but there will be a buzzing sound that comes and goes randomly from somewhere near the glove box. (the only time that the buzzing sound occurs is while the ac is on) Also the a/c will just stop blowing cold too sometimes.
One more thing. The light on the recirculated air will blink on and off constantly when selected (with or without ac on). One time I switched it to recirc and the light never came on (and the air quit blowing cold).
