It seems both cables that run from the adjuster handle to the mechanism at the back of the seat have either snapped or come loose (Both cables are dangling under the seat). Any ideas on how to fix the problem would be great? |

I was doin about 65-70 on the highway and everything died and the check engine light came on. I thought it might be the alternator but I replaced that. It seems to want to turn over but it doesnt do it. I figured it might also be the starter but Im not sure where the starter is located in the engine bay. Any other suggestions? I just started myjourney to work one day and 200 hundred yards from my house the engine cut out and i had no power. The dash was lit up like a christmas tree. I tried to start the engine but it didn't want to start. The ignition coil was ticking over and also the alternaor was spinning but the engine didn't want to know. It's been dead for about half a month now and now the dash doesn't want to light up. Tried starting it with jump leads but no joy, tried changing battery but no joy, tried another ECU but no joy. I've only had the car 4 months, and didn't notice anything at first, but now have found that water is somehow getting underneath the carpet to the extent where the floor is absolutely soaking and even soaks my trousers on a short 10 minute journey! I've tried to find out where the leak is coming from by taking up the carpet, but it doesn't seem to help (not that I can get the foot-rest out to remove the carpet completely - are those treaded screws on the foot rest ratcheted or something?). I've tried spraying the car with a hose-pipe, but it doesn't happen (immediately anyway) then. A friend told me the sunroof water overflows were probably blocked, but although they seem to take a while to empty the water, I cannot find any resistant when I put a wire down there. Any help, before my car starts to rust to death, would be much appreciated! |

| Miscellaneous | | Toyota MR2 MK2 N/A - Flooded | | My 93 model (NA) was overcome by the storm surge from Hurricane Ivan. It sat totally submerged for about 6 hours in brackish water until the bay receeded. I have not done anything yet (it's been 10 days) but I know time is a factor. My plan is to drain and replace all fluids, replace plugs and battery and then crank her over with the plugs removed to push out any residual water. With this done I hope to reinstall plugs the plugs, try to start it and hope for the best. Should she start, I plan to bring her up to temp, shut down, cool down and replace fluids again. As soon as I stop accelerating/depress the clutch the noise stops and reappears when releasing the clutch and foot on the gas. Its worse going round right bends. A friend and I fixed the drainage cups on both sides of the conv. top and now the storage bins are dry. However the floor boards are still collecting water. I am not sure where that is comng from.
