| Power Windows | | Toyota MR2 MK1 N/A - MR2 Power Windows, 1988 | | I am a female MR2 owner. This is the first time that I have had problems with my power windows since I've owned this car for 14 years. While driving, I put my window down and now it won't go back up and there is no noise when I use the switch on the driver side and the passenger side door. My driver side window is working okay. Someone told me to check my fuses, but where would my fuse box be located for the passenger side window on my 88 Toyota MR2? Does anyone have any idea? |

| Power Windows | | Toyota MR2 MK1 N/A - Power window jams on opening | | I have an AW11 MR2 which has the driver side power window jamming when it gets about 1/3 of the way down. It worked fine before but just stopped there one day and has never gone past 1/3 down. It goes up and down over that section fine. I pulled the trim off and found nothing obvious that is jamming the window so it seems like something is jamming the cables or the motor. Anyone else have a similar problem who found the solution? |

| Power Windows | | Toyota MR2 MK1 N/A - Slack in Window Actuator Cables | | The cables that move the window up and down have too much slack in the full down position. This allows the cable to snag on the guide. Is there a way to adjust the cable(s) tension / slack?

For the guy with the window jammed halfway...
check the cable that runs up along the tracks... se if it snagged anything.
There are three hidden screws that you can remove the motor with even if the window is in the way... the BGB says to unfasten the regulator and move it about until you can access the screws. I used a 3/4" holesaw and made access holes. I also drew up a sketch of where the holes belong. It is not the engine as when you change wiring you can make it close the window. There's no noise when pushing on either button when closing. Is that problem from switch, wiring, relay ?

| Power Windows | | Toyota MR2 MK2 N/A - power window problem | | Hi I have a UK MR2 Tbar where the power windows work fine but they do not stop when they reach their normal home position but past this. They have now torn the rubber quadrant and if not adjusted down do not produce a good seal and hence if this is not done the car leaks or the door doesn't always shut properly. i have been told the car needs new regulators at £55 each. Is this a the cause of the fault and are the regulators repairable?

The door locking button, the electric mirrors and windows will no longer function.
This problem only occurs while the doors are shut. If i open both doors (even the smallest amount - so they are resting on the catch) the problem goes away.
All fuses are fine, any one have any ideas? |
