submitted by theo on 17/03/2004
Hey, i am responding to the guy who had this rattling noise emanating from the engine compartment. It took me 2 years to figure this out, but on my '91 NA i eventually found out it was the left (from behind) engine mounting that needed realignment. To realign is a different matter altogether but take it out, stand the motor on soemthing and viola! your noise is gone.

It's supposed to be under 0.80 (Composite), but it reads 2.22CO is OK @ 8.8, CO-2 is good @ 304.8. it's a standard 4AGE engine , I'm not certain if the previous owner didn't tweek it some. It has a modified air filter assembly. I have the original could that cause any problem. Is there a way to modify the brain or sensors to fake it temporarily, or is it a sensor bad oxy egr etc. THANX
