Fix / Recommendation submitted by Jonathan Saitzyk on 13/01/2005
I know the proper tire sizes are 205/45 I think for the rear I forget what the fronts are actually I think they are 205/25 but then again I am also running on 16 in rims. On the stock 14s the front should be 195/45 I think and 205/25s in the rear. That is what is recommended.

as said, youll need a 7.5 or 8" width rim which on 17s is seriously going to reduce the choice of rims available. It is a big misconception that wider is better. Dont go over the top or you will ruin the handling of the car.
Fix / Recommendation submitted by Vik on 22/01/2005
On my 91 mr2 turbo, Ive Got 215/35/18 on the front and 235/40/18 in the back and there is no problem. I can also lower it about 1.6 inches and be fine. But why would you want that wide of a tire on a small car??? I think that going wider then 235 in the rear is too much for that car unless your engine is putting out 300+ HP but you should be able to fit a 245/35/17 on the back, but it will slow your car down if your enging is all stock. One more thing, on a 17*7 wheel 245 tire will be sticking out a little, it might look wierd. You will need a rim that is 17*7.5 or 17*8 with a proper offset.
