| Engine | | Toyota MR2 MK3 - Engine Overheating, Revving Funny at idle (jittering), Coolant constantly needs filling, No heat from heater!! | | Hi, I have a 2004 MR2 MK III, have had it for 5 months. over the weekend the engine started overheating after 10/15 mins of driving. I have topped up the coolant and had to do this about 3 times since! The engine overheats guaranteed after 10/15 mins of driving, the engine "jitters" when idle, particularly when driven for a few minutes and then stopping at lights. The heaters will not blow out any warm air, infact its almost like its airconditioning (which I dont have).
Any help would be really appreciated. I cant see any puddles or anything so cant see where it would be leaking. I am not really that into car mechanics so any direction of where to look and what to look for would be really helpful. Cant afford to take it to a garage at the minute, but would be useful to know whats wrong! Thank you - Register to post a fix |

It sounds like you either have:
1) A blockage on the water system
2) Your water pump has failed or belt that drives it is loose
3) Your thermostat is stuck closed
The overheating is an issue that needs sorting asap because if you don't you could warp the head burst a head gasket. |
